Pre-announcement of legislative changes from May to July 2024

Cylactin®

What changes?

1. The authorisation of Cylactin® is renewed for below mentioned animal species/categories:
   1. Sows
   2. Suckling piglets
   3. Weaned piglets
   4. Pigs for fattening
   5. Calves
   6. Kids (goat lamb)
   7. Poultry for fattening
2. The declaration changes for the variant with shellac (Cylactin® LBC ME 20 plus), see also Table 1.
3. The additive is now allowed for more animal species/categories, see also Table 1.

Transitional measures?

See Table 2 for the transitional measures for the production and labelling, placing on the market and use of existing stocks of Cylactin® for chickens for fattening and reared for laying and minor poultry species for fattening and reared for laying, calves for rearing and for fattening, kids for rearing and for fattening, sows, suckling piglets, weaned piglets and pigs for fattening.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux will label premixtures and complementary feed with Cylactin® LBC ME20 plus not later than as of 13 November 2024 according to the new rules. When premixtures labelled with the new declaration are used in (end) products, these (end) products shall also be labelled with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as customer?

Declaration of the additive is obligated for compound feed. Therefore, you shall change the declaration according to the new rules as well.

Provita LE

What changes?

1. The authorisation of Provita LE is renewed for calves for rearing with a maximum age of 4 months.
2. The name of the additive changed, see also Table 3
3. The conditions of use are not changed, see also Table 3.

Transitional measures?

See Table 4 for the transitional measures for the production and labelling, placing on the market and use of existing stocks of Provita LE.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux will label premixtures and complementary feed with Provita LE not later than as of 15 November 2024 according to the new rules. When premixtures labelled with the new declaration are used in (end) products, these (end) products shall also be labelled with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as customer?

Declaration of the additive is obligated for compound feed. Therefore, you shall change the declaration according to the new rules as well.

Vitamin B12 (update)

What changes?

All forms of vitamin B12 – except for the in Table 5 mentioned forms – shall be withdrawn from the market for all animal species and categories.

Transitional measures?

See Table 6 for the transitional measures for the withdrawn from the market of the vitamin B12 forms which are not mentioned in Table 5.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux as of 1 September 2024 deliver and label its premixtures and complementary feed with vitamin B12 according to the new rules. When premixtures labelled with the new declaration are used in (end) products, these (end) products shall also be labelled with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as customer?

Declaration of vitamin B12 in compound feed is voluntary. If you declare vitamin B12 on your compound feed, this shall comply to the new rules.  In addition, as of 6 October 2024 you may not use premixtures with the old vitamin B12 and as of 6 July 2025 you may not use feed materials and compound feed with the old vitamin B12.

Ammonium chloride of BASF SE

What changes?

1. The authorisation of ammonium chloride of BASF SE for ruminants, cats and dogs is renewed.
2. The additive shall be incorporated into feed in the form of a premixture.
3. The mixture of different sources of ammonium chloride shall not exceed the permitted maximum levels in complete feeding stuffs for ruminants, cats and dogs.
4. There are no further changes in the conditions of use or the declaration (see Table 7 for overview).

Transitional measures?

There are no transitional measures.

Declaration of the additive is obligated for compound feed. Therefore, you shall comply to the new rules as well.
