Pre-announcement of legislative changes from March to May 2024

Please note that these are only legislative changes that affect the compositions and/or labelling of products produced by our Ghent and/or Putten production sites.

Ronozyme®WX (CT/L)

What changes?

  1. The authorisation of Ronozyme® WX has been renewed.
  2. The used production strain has been changed.
  3. Feed additive is now allowed for all poultry and pig species.
  4. The declaration code has been changed.
  5. Declaration, conditions of use, see Table 1 for overview.

Transitional measures?

See Table 2 for the applicable transition dates for production and labelling, placing on the market and exhaustion of existing stocks for endo-1,4-beta-xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) produced by Aspergillus oryzae (DSM 26372) intended for fattening poultry, weaned piglets, fattening pigs, lactating sows and/or laying hens.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux will label the premixtures and complementary feeds for the mentioned animal species with Ronozyme®WX (CT/L) according to the new rules as of November 1, 2024 at the latest. As soon as the premixtures with the new declaration are processed into (end) products, they must also be provided with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as a customer?

Declaration of the additive is mandatory for compound feed. The declaration on the labeling of compound feed must therefore also be adjusted in accordance with the new rules.

Hostazym®

What changes?

  1. The authorisation of Hostazym® has been renewed.
  2. The additive is now allowed for more animal species/categories.
  3. The declaration has changed slightly.
  4. The used production strain used has been changed.
  5. Declaration, conditions of use, see Table 3 for overview.

Transitional measures?

See Table 4 for the applicable transition dates for production and labelling, placing on the market and exhaustion of existing stocks of the additive.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux will label the premixtures and complementary feeds with the additive according to the new rules as of September 26, 2024 at the latest. As soon as the premixtures with the new declaration are processed into (end) products, they must also be provided with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as a customer?

Declaration of the additive is mandatory for compound feed. The declaration on the labeling of compound feed must therefore also be adjusted in accordance with the new rules.

Vitamin Hy -D

What changes?

  1. The authorisation of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol has been renewed for chickens for fattening, turkeys for fattening, other poultry and pigs.
  2. 25-hydroxycholecalciferol is now also permitted for ruminants.
  3. Declaration, conditions of use, see Table 5 for overview.

Transitional measures?

There are no transition periods.

What does it mean for you as a customer?

Declaration of the additive is mandatory for compound feed. The additive may now also be used in feed for ruminants.

Nicotinic acid and niacinamide

What changes?

  1. The authorisation of nicotinic acid and niacinamide has been renewed.
  2. Declaration of nicotinic acid has changed:
    1. Old: niacin (3a314)
    2. New nicotinic acid (3a314)
  3. The conditions of use of nicotinic acid and niacinamide have not changed (see Table 6 for overview).

See Table 7 for the applicable transition dates for production and labelling, placing on the market and exhaustion of existing stocks of nicotinic acid.

Trouw Nutrition Benelux will label premixes and complementary feeds with nicotinic acid according to the new rules as of November 15, 2024 at the latest. As soon as the premixtures with the new declaration are processed into (end) products, they must also be provided with the new declaration.

What does it mean for you as a customer?

Declaration of nicotinic acid is optional for compound feed. If you currently declare nicotinic acid (formerly niacin), it must comply with the new rules.
